I love old style road side attractions, kitsch and B movies. I also have an obsession with fiberglass and cement dinosuars. So I was like a little kid in a candy shop when we went to Dino World in Cave City KY. I decided to create a little series with the images I shot. My daughters are the actors in Dino Drama. In the establishing shot the two girls are enticed by an enigmatic yellow arrow, to walk down a path through the woods. The first creature they come across is cute and seemingly docile, but as they walk further down the path, the creatures get bigger and more terrifying.
I cropped the photos into squares and added heavy vignetting to mimic some of the characteristics of the Holga and Diana cameras. Although Holga and Diana color is not so vivid, I saturated the color to make the images more garish. So like the fiberglass dinosaurs the images are blatantly inauthentic renditions of the real thing.
