As I do every year, I gave my students an assignment to go out and make images in which light and shadow are the subject or play an integral role in the image. I spent the afternoon with my daughters in Hinsdale, IL and decided to shoot the Light Shadow and Reflection assignment myself. It was a glorious fall afternoon. The light was strong and beautiful. This activity is so satisfying--I am in my element just wandering and discovering and composing the elements revealed and concealed by light and shadow.These images are not documentary, they are my way of making poetry.
